When you have a lakefront home on Chestermere Lake you own the land under your deck. There are no forced shore rights like there are in many other waterfront locations, where the public has access to the water. You own right to the shore and under your dock and boathouse. Some realtors will include this in the lot depth, so you have to be careful to see the real property report to know what the size of the yard actually is. Being able to launch your boat from home just makes having a boat make sense. Having to take your boat to the boat launch, back it in and then wait to take it out, is such a hassle. When you can just get in the boat and go it makes it something you will do much more often.
Living on the lake gives you great views, unbelievable sun sets and sun rises.
As Chestermere is part of the Western Irrigation District, the water comes in from the Bow River and flows into Chestermere Lake where it flows out of the lake, with a total change out of water every 5 days.
