Chestermere 10th Annual Parade of Garage Sales May 26,27 and 28th.
Many local businesses jumped on the band wagon with sidewalk sales and special offers. Some registrants had as many as 350 visitors with some travelling from as far as Drumheller. This is a great opportunity to have a very successful garage sale. Last year we also arranged to have any saie items left over from the garage sales picked up by the Calgary Women in Need Society.
About 50 participants had indicated that you would like to donate items that did not sell to charity. Unfortunately The Women In Need Society gave me rather late notice that they cannot pickup this year.
That leaves us with several options.
The St. Gabriel Catholic Women’s League is also hosting an annual clothing and shoe drive and you can donate clean clothing, paired shoes, belts, purses, towels and linens.
These items will be shipped to Third World Countries to be reused and re-loved.
Just place your items in plastic bags and drop them in the bin at THE NO-FRILLS PARKING LOT FROM MAY. 28TH TO JUNE 4
They cannot accept corporate clothing, fabric rolls, scrap pieces, fabric sample books, oiled rags. For more information please call Denine @403-619-0877.
Donations of Clothing and Household Goods.
You will need to call or email yourselves as the form this year did not give me a list of your addresses, or your phone numbers. If you want someone to pick up from your home Inclusion Alberta will be picking up in Chestermere this Friday.
Inclusion changes lives. And so do your donations.
Their goal is to ensure Albertans with developmental disabilities have the support and advocacy they need to live in a home of their own, receive a quality education and find a good job, simply by donating your used clothing and housewares.
Items to donate:
- Clothing: Men’s, Women’s, Kids’
- Clothing accessories: hats, mitts, scarves, ties, nylons, socks, underwear
- Personal accessories: purses, wallets, bags
- Bed & Bath: towels, sheets, blankets, pillows, curtains, tablecloths
- Shoes: all types
- Housewares (smaller than “18X”18”18)
- Small electrical items

- Computer software
They DO NOT accept:

How do my donations make a difference:
They turn your used goods into much needed funds by selling them to Value Village. These funds are then used to directly support children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families.
In addition to supporting Inclusion Alberta, you are also recycling unwanted merchandise, keeping it out of the landfill.
You pack the bags – they will bring the truck.
To schedule a free pick up call
We do not have anyone to pick up furniture, however I think on a one on one basis WINS still will pick up. Their phone number is (403) 252-3826, or you can drop off at their three locations. There is also a Goodwill on 52nd that will take furniture.
We hope you had a successful sale. We look forward to the 2018 sale on May 25, 26 and 27th.
Marjorie and Doug McKay
