Lakeview Landing is a mature development on the West Side of Chestermere Lake South of the Golf Course. Construction was completed between 1999 and 2005. There are bungalow and two storey homes, some duplex homes
Lakeside Greens opened the first showhome parade in 1991. The last homes built were built in 1998. Many homes in Lakeside Greens back onto beautiful ponds, there are many homes with spectacular mountain views. There is one small villa project. There is a good selection of bungalow and two storey homes, with or without walkout basements.
The Cove is located on the North-East side of Chestermere Lake. It features 40 lakefront homes with the balance of the homes being off of the lake. The first homes in this area were built on Cove Road built in the late 1990?s.
This Development was first selling homes in 1991. The area has a 9 acre lake that has a walking path around it. Families can also skate. It is not suitable for swimming. There are also small canals that run throughout this community. Prices range from $350 to $600k.
Westmere is on the North-West end of Chestermere Lake and runs west towards Calgary along the 1A highway. Westmere has the most diverse housing mix in Chestermere. Townhouses, villas, 3 storey apartment buildings, estate homes and a good mix of single family homes. There are new homes available in the Shores of Westmere.
Homes in this area were built starting in 1993 as in Chesterview Estates people could by the lot and bring their own builder. Other phases were not added that quickly. More were built in 1997, but it took off in 1999. Towards the end of the project builders Stepper Homes, Sterling Homes and Nu-Vista Homes completed the project.
Rainbow Falls is located in the South-West corner of Chestermere.
This development is bordered by the irrigation canal, Chesterview Estates and West Creek. This development has been designed to take advantage of the availability of water from the Western Irrigation canal. There is one large pond, a large waterfall, a smaller pond and a series of man-made creeks running through this development. There are two elementary schools in Rainbow Falls both the public and the separate boards opened new schools in 2008.
Lakefront homes are on East Chestermere (odd house numbers) and on West Chestermere Drive (even house numbers) and in the Cove (odd). Some lakefront homes are truly estate homes, some are cottages, and some are modest four season homes. You really have to know what has sold and have been in the homes so you know how to price lakefront homes.
There are many great acreages near Chestermere. Some located in the town boundary and others located in the County of Rockyview.
Some acreages are located in very organized communities such as Highpoint, Eastridge, Lansdown, Tanner Estates Prairie Royal and Lake Ere. Others are not. Some have a water co-op, others do not. It is imperative that you have a realtor that is familiar with acreages and knows the ins and outs of the different systems that are available on acreages.
When the real estate board divided Chestermere into communites they did not ask the realtors who actually worked in the community to help them. So we have properties that do not fit into any community or realtors from Calgary don’t know so they select none for community. So here they are just in case you missed something great.
Lakepointe is a Chestermere Community built exclusively by Mattamy Homes. It was built out between 2012 and 2016. There are a variety of homes available. Townhouses (not condos) from $350,000, Duplexes from $400,000. Single family from $400,000
